What is waxing?

How long should my hair be?

Waxing is a form of hair removal that removes the entire hair with bulb from the hair follicle. Warm wax is applied to the skin and adheres to the hair. When removed the hair is pulled from the root.

Hair should be 1/4-1/2 of an inch long (size of grain of rice). Usually 1-2 weeks of growth. If you can pinch the hair between your fingers, we can pull it.

Will my hair grow back thicker?

How long do results last?

No, waxing actually has the opposite effect. Hair that is removed at the roots grows in finer and softer over time. Sometimes less.

Results typically last between 4-6 weeks but really depends on the person and there genes. We recommend monthly waxing for optimal results.

What kind of wax do you use?

Does waxing hurt?

We use 2 different types of wax. For the face, bikini and more sensitive areas of the body, we use a hard wax that shrink wraps and hardens around the hair and lifts from the skin creating a less painful removal. We use a more traditional soft wax for larger body areas such as legs, arms, chest and back and is removed using a paper strip.

Everyone’s pain tolerance is different, but you can expect a short, stinging sensation after the strip is pulled. If you are worried about being sensitive, taking ibuprofen or tylenol about 30min before your appointment should minimize your discomfort. Continuous waxing causes finer and less hair therefore waxing becomes less painful.
